Debi Hendra ERYT500 started sharing yoga in 2004, after 8 years practice she headed to India for 6 months and took her first teacher training in Rishikesh/India. Four study trips to practice at the source with Sharath and Saraswati in Mysore, and she now shares international workshops in Europe and Australasia and regular classes in Taupo, New Zealand teaching Ashtanga Yoga, Primary and Intermediate Series, Handstand workshops and Gentle Hatha/Restorative classes.

Her second teaching training, led to extensive ongoing studies with World Renowned Ashtanga Yoga Teacher John Scott and the setup of her first yoga studio in 2009. The following year she wrote and ran her first teacher training and has continued to develop and evolve the experience into the well crafted programme it is today. Fourteen years on she manages a thriving community studio in the heart of New Zealand, teaching students from school age to pregnant/new mums, elite athletes to handstand master classes and mature students with replacement knees/hips/titanium you-name-it. Debi works with local charities and collectives BlueLight, Cactus YouthTown and Anamata to help support challenged youth; she also teaches in schools to help provide a outlet for kids/teens to help deal with anxiety, depression, anger, build emotional resilience and share tools to encourage self-responsibility.

In 2013, she developed Ashtanga Yoga for Pregnancy with her second child, and a successful Online Yoga Studio during 2020, LoveYogaNewZealand which feataured in The Digital Boost Top 10 NZ Businesses 2020. Along with her Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga 250hr Teacher Trainings, she also teaches international (UK, Spain and Australia) and national (Auckland, Napier, Wellington) workshops, shares regularly at festivals and offers private classes from intimate one-on-one to large scale events whenever invited (Wanderlust, Huka Lodge, The Hilton, Sun Court Conference Centre, Wairakei Resort, Hawkes Bay Yoga Festival, The Little Yoga Festival).

She also competed at the New Zealand Masters Games in Gymnastics, Wanganui in 2021, winning Gold in the advanced category for her age group and a team Silver for Taupo.
